It is now evident that majority of parents are  tunded to ensuring that their children get the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, according to the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention.

According to the organization’s “Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report” says six out of 10 parents in the U.S. are choosing to do so. The reason is that the awareness about HPV is spreading as the  most common sexually transmitted infection and it can lead to cancer.

The CDC recommends parents get two doses for their children at ages 11 or 12 to protect against cancers caused by HPV infections.
